Kobem joins the LiveKit Startup Program

Kobem has joined the LiveKit Startup Program. LiveKit builds open-source infrastructure for real-time voice and video, and every call Kobem handles runs on it. The program gives early-stage companies a year on LiveKit Cloud's Scale plan, plus cloud and inference credits.

What LiveKit does on a call

When a client calls, the call reaches Kobem through LiveKit and the whole conversation runs on it. On every turn, three things have to happen:

  • Audio travels from the phone network to Kobem and back straight away.
  • The turn is handled in real time, in the time a person would take to answer.
  • The caller can interrupt at any moment.
